Bocoup has always been deeply committed to web platform interoperability, from early involvement in the evolution of the Web Platform Tests to our sustained involvement in the Interop initiative. We’ve consistently championed a unified web that works for everyone. The past few years of Interop have delivered tangible improvements for developers and users alike, and we’re proud of our own contributions. For example, in 2025, we’ve championed and helped kickstart a new investigation area to improve the level of testing for privacy features on the web!

Now, we’re excited to announce that the call for proposals for Interop 2026 is officially open! The Interop maintainers are again seeking proposals that tackle critical interoperability issues, whether they’re related to emerging standards, existing features with known inconsistencies, or areas that are currently holding back innovative web development. If you’ve ever identified a cross-browser pain point, this is the time to bring it forward.

Timeline for Proposals

  • Proposal submissions: September 4th, 2025 to September 24th, 2025
  • Proposal selection: Before December 11th, 2025
  • Interop 2026 scope finalized: February 5th, 2026.

At Bocoup, our commitment to an open and interoperable web remains strong. We encourage you to contribute your ideas and help us continue this vital work. Head over to the Interop 2026 GitHub repository to learn more about the selection process and get recommendations for writing a good proposal. Any form of participation is important, whether it’s submitting your own proposal or boosting signals for proposals you care about (via public discussions on Github or on any form of the social web). Let’s build a more consistently excellent web, together.
